I know this forum is on a free host, so twizt may be limited in what can be done in terms of popups, but I wanted to point out that a number of popups bizhat tries to load attempt to install malware, rootkits and all other kinds of nasties.

Firefox is a bit better with its built in popup blocker than IE8, but both are still technically susceptible to infection via the popups that manage to get by.
For everyone using Firefox (shame on anyone using IE), i suggest installing the NoScript add-on. Fantastic features, and its not that hard to understand how to operate. Blocks all the nasties found via bizhat.

If this is too much for you, or you use Internet Explorer, well...I guess you desirve to get infected haha.

Not sure what if anything you can do about this twizt, but thought I would point it out.

Eventually the forums will be transfered over to www.legiongg.com. In the meantime, I apologize for the popups, however if you have any decent form of anti-virus and a pop-up blocker you should be fine. I use both Firefox 3.0.10 and Internet Explorer 6, both with the Google toolbar, and usually all popups are blocked. Occassionally one will open, and I just close it. Firefox kind of sucks in a lot of aspects, it displays a lot of web pages completely differently than Internet Explorer, and makes the pages look like shit. It also does not support all of the html and xhtml functions that Internet Explorer does. (One example is image maps.) Anyway, I am aware of this problem, it will be fixed eventually, and don't be a god damned moron and click the popups, if you do then I don't really feel sorry for whatever happens to your computer.

Actually the best bet for a browser against this kind of this is to use SAFARI (same web browser for MAC OS). You can download this from the same website you get iTunes from. It's free. Just be sure to install Flash Player before you try to use it.

I will not ever download and/or use anything created by Apple except for iTunes.

Whats the reasoning behind this, besides the admitadly high-cost of apple hardware?
I was an early adopter to apples intel chipset, and have a first generation macbookpro, the kind that gets hot enough to cook eggs and burn legs. Its going on 5 years now, its been dropped, stepped on and banged around in my briefcase/messengerbag on subway trips, and yet the thing still runs like a champ. With the intel chips, there is pretty much nothing I cant do with the thing. Runs any OS I desire, supports custom EFI bootloaders that let me tripple/quadboot OS from a single drive (rEFit). When i need to be able to switch between native Osx, M$ and Linux, I cant think of a better choice.

Agreed, I like safari quite a bit, primary browser on my MbPro and new Hackintosh workstation, though when running a M$ OS, I like to use mozilla with the NOSCRIPT add-on. Works like a charm against XSS and other nasties.

I've had the same Dell laptop, running XP for 3 yrs, then Vista for another 2. I have never had any (major) problem with either.

Windows gets a lot of (overhyped) crap from the general public, but if you ask me, I dont think 9 out of 10 people know shit about computers besides how to check their fucking facebook.

Macs are incredibly over priced, and unless you do really REALLY fast technical computing, like data arrays > 1 GB, I dont see any reason to use a Mac. And even then, what does it save you, several seconds?

For all the software compatability problems you are faced with, I hardly find it worth the several seconds.

I installed Internet Explorer 8 with the Google Toolbar and I no longer get any popups on the forums.

As if the internet wasn't scary enough, Google "Clickjacking". I have used this method to great effect, but so do a lot of less ethical people.

All the more reason to use NOscript, no matter what os/browser you use.

They say that exploit happens on every major browser, and only specified one Google version of a browser that had major problems. I read about NOscript, and even though I have Firefox installed, I do not like using it. Anything you view in Firefox is sized differently than in other browsers, and certain pages that work with Internet Explorer do not work correctly with Firefox. Usually, everything ends up a lot smaller, and does not look right, and it annoys me. Sometimes images or other things on the page end up in the wrong place as well. I'll give it another try though and see how it works out.

I was going to install NOscript, however I first tried deleting a bunch of old bookmarks. Well I couldn't delete any of my bookmarks because Firefox is fucking retarded. I tried deleting, I tried cutting, and I even tried to find the file that contains bookmarks, however I think it is compressed. It's little dumbass things like this that keep me using Internet Explorer.

actually anyone who says macs are over priced is kinda retarded shy of building it yourself if you put comperable components in a pc macs are in fact and always have been cheaper.....do your homework people. Not only are they cheaper everything windows has pretty much ever done has been a ripoff of a mac....lets see vista, direct ripoff of OSX 3 years later...the ipaq from compaq hmmm looks and sounds strangely like a mac...If mac is so bad at doing what they do why are they the only pc company still standing from their era?? and why is everything in the tech industry a ripoff of something they did years before????? i am confused
