Another deviation from my otherwise uninteresting life

So, the woman and I are older. 27 and 28, if you want to get technical about it. We moved into this place, spacious, cheap, good location for us. What we dont know is that its a damnned college frat party "mansion" as they call it. (yes, its officially known as "the hot truck mansion".

At first, it was ok. Sure sometimes it was really loud for a while, but we would join the partys, and drink free beer. Sometimes there were a lot of people, but never so many that we couldnt walk through the common hallways to get in/out, or to take the dog our to shit. Then bad(er) apples move in the apt just above us on the 2nd floor. Parties are now out of control. Countless fights, 3 house residents going to the hospital for critical care, several on probation/community service as a result.

Normally, they would do us the courtesy of informing us when a party would be, so we could plan accordingly. One time they didnt. We found out, and since the idea of 300+ people w/ bands and kegs in the basement right below us, the door to which is literally right next to our front door, barring us from entering or leaving isnt a good one, we said something to the property manager. In responce he locks the basement, which ends free laundry privilidges, and sends out a letter to all residents.

Needless to say, they figured out it was us. Thus began the escalation. If your not from/live in Philadelphia, there is a very strong "No Snitching" ideology in this city. It began with people yelling snitches, faggots etc, as they went upstairs to the 2nd floor apt. Then it progresses to 4am wakeups of drunks kicking our door, challening me to come out and fight. Also frequent bottle smashes against said door, attempts to open the door, the list goes one.

So I bought myself this nifty little gadget. If your a lost fan, or have seen just about any police equipment, you know what a collapsible steel baton is.

Last night, as we try to leave, the main protagonist in this tale of woe and warfare, grabs our door as we open it, and steps inside, drunk and ready to fight. Knowing my legal right, the instant he forced his way into the apt, I extended my little gadget, and intoduced it to his face, just above the right temple. And once to the hand as well (he was already down, so i fight dirty...).

Needless to say the emt's had to take him out on a stretcher, since he wasn't what we in the medical field call conscious. The police on scene commend me on defending myself, and remark that my gadget is better than their standard issue.

End result: I am now extremly feared in the building. People literally push against the wall if i happen to pass them in the hallways. And im really such a nice guy, and passive at that. But god help you if you threaten my wife with violence and push her, thinking its ok because im not home at the time.

I would be in the same boat with my ar15 medic, but the little lady doesnt like the idea of guns in the house.

im weaning her on idea, taking her to the range to actually , i know she likes it, just doesnt want to admit it.

plus shes afraid im going to over-react and kill someone for their shitty driving Very Happy
