I tend to just copy and paste the "Never give your steam account login and password information to anyone" message that shows in EVERY friends message.
If im feeling frisky I'll sweet talk em into getting me an email, harvest their IP, and well from there, I will let you use your imagination. I will say its not nice. And people who fish in this manner, dont exactly tend to be on the up and up when it comes to security patches and general practice |

whats also funny is that he never changed his avatar or alias so i knew it was him. What steam moderator would have a smurf alias? |

It amazes me how poorly people write when trying to impersonate a professional.... |

Whats even more amazing, the last time I came across one of these people, I did the usual copy & paste the "Steam will never ask blah blah" thing to the guy, and said something along the lines of "couldnt think up anything too original?"
Ended up talking with him a bit. Stupidity of the average computer/css user amazes me. Despite that warning being up, our friend was still netting at least 3-5 accounts per hundred tries or so.
Humanity. The weakest link in any security chain. |
