Hunting

Just got back from my Grandpa's cabin in Northern Lower Michigan and a successful hunt! Got a 6 point buck in the evening of opening day (15th). My Dad got a 3 point, family friend got a 3 point aswell, Uncle got a spike, and Grandpa got a doe (shot it out of the cabin's kitchen window this morning, haha), making me Top Dog! Very Happy

Should get the pics tomorrow.

Just wanted to share and see if anyone else hunts deer.

nice! but opening day of shotgun isnt till saturday i believe. you get it with a bow? cant wait till saturday hope to get a monster buck Smile

Opening Day of gun season for deer was Sunday the 15th here in Michigan. I used a Tikka T3 .270 with Zeiss Conquest Scope. This 6 point is my biggest buck. What is your biggest buck?

My first year of bow, I had a nice 6 point walk within 15 yards of me but I froze up with buck fever and couldn't pull the trigger. Got a doe my first year of gun, a 3 point the next(one of the tines broke off, otherwise he'd have been a 4), and a 4 point last year.
Earlier this year during bow, I had a big 3 point walk to within a foot of my treestand's ladder. I couldn't get a shot at him; he got right under me, caught my scent and ran off.

.270 is on tiny side!!!! My dad has a .300 win mag and my grandpa has a 7mm ultra mag!

I hit him a little too far back in the shoulder. The bullet went through both shoulders, both lungs, missed the heart, and nicked the guts. Not my best shot but it got the job done. ONE SHOT, ONE KILL!

haha idk man 270 will go through an armored wall. and wow those other 2 are just ridiculous power, you can hunt major animals with those. nice shot though as long as you get vitals its a kill

Ahhh, I don't see it. Although, I've only watched the show for like 5 mins while flipping through channels.
