Hey guys. I've been thinking about this mapmaking craze thats gripping the clan and decided i wanted a piece of the action. So I decided to base my map on a certain place where every teenager holds as a second home: the mall. I have a pretty good idea on layout as I have the blueprint of the store here: http://www.theharlequin.uk.com/pdf/store_guide.pdf. But I'm gonna need your guys' help if I'm to make this a success.

Malls are designed to give as much space as possible to pedestrians. what the hell am i gonna do about cover???

Cover is easy in all mall. Here there are little islands with trees planted in them. Trash cans, vending machines...I'm sure you can think of others. Sounds like a cool map idea though.

high rise is the one in a... high rise. not a mall. And the lifts are somewhat retarded. but nice concept.

hey Konig...
one idea for cover
make the entrances to the stores inset (like alcoves)
that will offer some over along the sides.

and you could make them more open "V" sape to make it less pleasing to campers.

but i wouldn't recommend making it so the stores have open doors cause then people will camp like crazy.

one last idea...instead of making it a straight mall, you could make it a cross shape, give more angles.

Hrmm... Well I spent a great deal of my time in the Harlequin, and basically its a tribute; so I would like to keep the structure as intact as possible. But yeah, I'll look into some minor modifications.

Hmm...Sounds like a great idea to me...just make a few stores so its not the size of the whole mall.Players can use cover from the stores...you can make a water fountain...benches...ETC...you can make 2 stores on each side all built with different ideas of cover so it seems even on both sides and people don't say "THIS MAP IS T SIDED" or something like that...the whole concept seems good to me.

yeah konig this sounds like the shit and a mall is a really good idea has a lot of options. i was thinkin of getting into mapping myself but i dont have time right now maybe over the summer cause it takes a while to make a good map
