So, I'm going to guess that most of us here never hear of the HL1 mods: The Opera, Action Half Life, or The Specialists. These all are/were (alive, sorta) really fun action based dm mods. Basically, think of every Hong Kong action flick, mix in some matrix and american action movies, and you get the theme of these games.
I played the specialists for about 3-4 years, before RolePlay mods took over all the populated servers, and the game community died, unless you wanted to take an action mod where you can slowdown/pause time, flip off of and run across walls, and then change it so you dont shoot anyone and instead roleplay having jobs??
Anyhow, Action HL2 is coming soon, in fact, if you know your way around the source SDK, you can compile your own beta right now. The game is excellent.
In Abstract: Long jumps, dives, Kung fu (disarms players with guns, as well as satisfaction of kicking someones ass, literally), akimbo weapons, weapons mods, throwing knives, vehicles, fast, action gameplay.
This type of game play was always my favorite, and I suppose thats why I fell in love with legion gg, the server settings allow for momentum based movement tricks, game play is fast and furious, etc.
Seeing as the dev team is coming closer and closer to a stable release, instead of hosting YAGG (yet another gg), I will be running an AHL2 server. By no means am I leaving legion or stopping my gunagame addiction.
I also know that I am not allowed to consider the server legion canon, but I would like to harvest some of my admins from our group here.
Check it out, compile with the SDK or wait for the "official" beta, and let me know if you'd have any interest in playing.
