Eh, led's don't require much power. You can get retonkulous PSUs anyway, more than you're going to need in even some of the more top shelf towers. _________________

oh, that's funny you should say that Lucy. I'm just doing the LEDs because I wanted to experiment with this tower because it's an Acer Aspire T180 tower and it was free. I wanted to see how much of a pain in the ass it would be to do this. It was because I tried various types of blue leds that work on other cases that I've done and the voltage out of the Main header and the USB header is 5 volts but for some reason the main header wouldn't power on the LEDs so I had to run them into the USB header to get them to function properly. Also, being how the only thing left inside the case that is an Acer component is the motherboard that only runs the AM2 processors, I'm going to swich out the wiring on the front I/O header connector and throw a MSI Mobo (cuz it's only $70, here's the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130237) and a Phenom II Dual Core 550 Callisto that can be unlocked to quad core and the processor is 3.1 Ghz and it's only $102 (here's the link to that as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680) I'm going to build an Intel i7 Extreme in the next few months but this is just something to tide me over for now. _________________ Don't buy a computer, BUILD IT YOURSELF! |

I have a Raidmax RX-530SS PSU in this thing and it's running my Sapphire HD 3870 graphics card in here plus all the LEDs, Case Fans, and everything else strong and steady. We'll see how she holds up when I throw that new mobo and CPU in there and run this badboy in RAID. _________________ Don't buy a computer, BUILD IT YOURSELF! |

I know the thread is pretty old but I'm bored as hell and it's 4 a/m with nothing to do here. So here is my desktop!
My OS is a mixture of 3 haha...my dad gave it to my a while back..said he got it from pirate bay, I think. It's Windows XP with some Vista and 7 thrown in from what he said. _________________

I have a version of XP quite similar, it's wicked fast, boots up in about 10 seconds.

Yeah, did some time ago. Also yes the computer does of course matter in boot up but when compared to other operating systems like other versions of Windows or Linux. |
